Dear Helen,
A few lines in answer to your most welcome letters which I have been receiving lately and failing to answer. But I am finally getting around to it at last. I have been awfully busy lately but am not working too hard now, so want to get caught up on my letter writing.
I suppose it is getting very much like summer over there now. I got the pictures of the sleigh ride today. The one of you on the sleigh, the one of Eileen G. & Olive and the one of Steve & Clarence standing up in the sleigh. I have got one of the pictures of myself that you were speaking of and I have another one of myself and a fellow from Windsor that I will send to you, the next time that I write. It was taken on another scheme that we were on.
Gee, with all that money that you are getting saved up you should have a real time when you go to Windsor. I had a two pound box of Laura Secord chocolates from Jennie yesterday. I had a telegram from J.C. quite some time ago but have never been able to get and see him yet, although I am trying my best. I was to a dance tonight and of course I met a couple of nice young lassies, you know the old Robert Taylor style. I have to carry a club with me to keep beating them off. So, I don’t go out very often as I get tired of being chased by them all the time.
Well, I suppose it will soon be summer holidays again and you will be all through school for another two months. I hope to be getting another leave before very long. I want to go see Jimmie, if I can, and I also have an invitation to go to Sheffield and as I have never been there yet, I want to go if possible. Well, I can’t think of anymore right now so will close for this time. Write soon.
Love and kisses, Allan
