Dear Sister,
Well, here is a few more lines to let you know that I received your parcel OK. You said in your letter that the shirt wasn’t just what you wanted. I don’t know how much better you would want, for I think that it was just about right and everything else was just swell also. The guys have been playing with the soldier all day trying to see who could make him walk the farthest without him falling down. I even had the sergeant trying to make him walk.
Well, I suppose that Roy will soon have to vacate his roosting place behind the stove and get to work again. I’ll bet that that will really hurt his feelings. What is Helen doing getting ready for the summer exams? I’ll bet and still flirting with Buster WARD.
Gee, here it is half past twelve at night and I have got to stay awake until after breakfast just to look after a couple of old phones. One thing, I have got a good fireplace here with a good fire going in it, so at least it is not cold in here anyway.

Well, I guess I will carry on from last night and finish with a pen. I was going to finish this morning but as I slept all day I didn’t get around to it. I think I will send the hankie to Margaret tomorrow, thanks a million for sending it.
Well, I guess old Jerry must be over tonight. I can hear the ack-ack going and what sounds like a bomb every once in a while, in the distance. Some of them came in right over here the other day and dropped a couple about three miles from here. Well, I can’t think of any more right now so will close for this time. Thanks again for the parcel. Hoping to hear from you soon again.
Love, Allan
