History After Enlistment… Had been promoted to Corporal but reverted to private to go overseas in 1944. Served in England, Holland and Germany.
Served with No.3 Canadian Infantry. He served overseas. Pte. Zimmer returned from overseas October, 1945.
Date of Discharge…February 1946
Clarence farmed all his life in Harwich Township.
After the war he became a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Deputy Reeve of Harwich Twsp. and President of Legion Br. #367 in Thamesville.
Clarence passed away 24/08/2012 at the “Village” in Ridgetown in his 88th year. Interment at Sty. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham, ON
