A labourer. Member of  Seaforth Highlanders for 12 years. Attestation: 14/12/1915 at St. Thomas to 91st Bn., 14 /Dec. 15 to 28/02/15  then to 186th Bn. to 19 Mar. 1917.

Apparent Age: 37 yrs. 1 mth., Height: 5’ 3 ½ ‘, Girth: 32, Weight: 154#  Complexion: Fair, Eyes: Hazel and Hair: Auburn.  not noted. He had a tattoo: on his bicep and fore-arm of both. A left leg had two small scars from a post Bullet wound. is thigh was fractured but no shortening of the leg by less of an inch. They had three children Charles 5yrs., Dorothy 3 yrs. and baby Jean 6 month. His parents were deceased 

At the rank of CSM he was Discharged:19/03/17 at Camp Borden 19/03/17. “ Being Medically unfit. Though cause was not due to Military Service. Authority (I.D. 30 – Y-14) of  March 14,1917.

Former occupation: Structural Iron Worker, 28/02/17, 186th from 10/12/15 to 28/02/17. Disability: Left leg short by 1” shorter along with Rheumatism – before enlistment – – it was while in South Africa where he received the gun shot wound to his leg.    

Honourably discharged March, 1917. CDP19/03/17.
