Born in Riverside formerly of Blenheim, the daughter of Pearl (Krug) and Archie Yager. The sister of Margaret, Iona, Ruby, and infant brother George. The wife of Bill Hawryluk, the mother of Larry, Michael, Paul  and Kathy (Pullen).

Sylvia served as a Ward Room Attendent at HMCS Stadacona in Halifax, NS.

Sylvia passed away 22 September, 2016 with internment at Pardoville – Union Cemetery. CDN-Obit 24/09/16(P)
