Departed at Halifax, NS. aboard S. S. Southland 28/03/17. Arrived in France: 17/05/17 with Central Ontario Region (COR) 2nd Construction Batt.
Cornelious reported sick 25/03/18 at King George Hospital in England. 3/04/18 he was transferred to Cdn. General Hospital – Bearwood suffering from Influenza. The following describes how he fared
“Went to France in May 1917 with a draft to No.2 Construction Coy. Was with that unit until he went on leave in March 1918. Then reported sick to King George Hospital. Admitted to Hospital. Diagnosed Influensa. Kept in hospital for three weeks under treatment, then sent to C.C.H. Bearwood. Present Condition: Patient in a well nourished looking man, good appetite feeling very much better. Cough gone. Examination of Lungs and Heart negative. Digestive, Nervous and Urinary systems negative.”
Transferred to Bramshott 6/06/18
Returned to Canada aboard the S.S. Carmania. Arrived at Halifax 1/02/1919. Posted to “Casualty Coy.” Granted a furlough with subs 11/02/19 to 1/03/19. He was discharged HMS 5/03/191 due to demobilization.
Cornelious Wright passed away 30 January, 1964.
