History After Enlistment… After serving in Toronto and Camp Borden he was returned to the First Kent Regiment when it mobilized in the summer of 1940.
He was a member of the Kent regiment and volunteered for active service in December of 1939. After serving in Toronto and Camp Bordon he returned to the First Kent Regt. when it mobilized in the summer of 1940. He had recently volunteered for overseas service. The CDN reported that Sgt. Wood was overseas.
He later volunteered for overseas service and became attached to the Essex-Scottish. Served with then [sic] in England, Holland, Germany and Belgium. He suffered battle exhaustion and was hospitalized.
Enlisted with the Essex Scottish. Reported returning from overseas on board the S. S. “New Amsterdam” part of a contingent of RCR members. CDN 25/09/45.
