Born in Chatham, ON., 19/07/1920. The son of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Wolfe, the brother of William.  Jack enlisted 1 August, 1940 in Windsor, ON. to the RCAF. He was posted to Eastern Air Command at Halifax, NS. His duties consisted of movement of RCAF personal to various stations along the East Coast and to service overseas.

Jack’s address at enlistment was 121 King Street West, Chatham, Ontario.  He served in the Eastern Air Command Headquarters, Halifax, Nova Scotia, R.C.A.F. Headquarters in Ottawa, Ontario.

The CDN 24/12/43 reported he was visiting his parents Mr. and Mrs. George Wolfe on a nine-day furlough.

After three years he was posted to RCAF HQ. in Ottawa where he was involved in Statistics and Promotions of Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers. The CDN 20/07/44 Reported that Sgt. Wolf stationed on the east coast was spending a ten day furlough with his mother and father.

Date of Discharge was May 1, 1945.

After his discharge in May of 1945 he married Margery Elaine (nee MacDonald) of Ottawa. He graduated from the School of Professional Photography at Ryerson Institute in Toronto in 1948. He settled in Chatham until 1960 when he moved to Livonia, Michigan in the furniture business.

Margery passed away in 2002 and Jack remarried Jane Lurain of Plymouth, Michigan. In 2005 he was living in Novi, Michigan. NB.

History After Enlistment… Trained at Mountain View, Halifax and Ottawa. Promoted to Flight-Sergeant. Served on the Staff at #1 Depot, Halifax, N.S.

Veteran’s Story: “Enlisted in RCAF August 1, 1940.  Discharged May 1, 1945.  Posted to Eastern Air Command Halifax, N.S.  Duties consisted of movement of Air Force personnel to various stations along East Coast and to service overseas.  After 3 years, I was posted to personnel to various stations along East Coast and to service overseas.  After three years I was posted to RCAF Headquarters in Ottawa where I was involved in Statistics and Promotions of Officers and Non Commissioned officers.  Discharged in 1945 with rank of Flight Sergeant and married to Margery MacDonald of Ottawa in 1945.  Graduated from school of Professional Photography at Ryerson Institute of Technology in Toronto in 1948.  Settled in Chatham and moved ot Livonia, Michigan in 1960 where I was employed in various aspects of the furniture industry for 20 years.  Lost my wife in 2002.  I now reside in Fox Run Village, Novi, Michigan where I met and married Jane Lurain of Plymouth, Michigan in 2005.
