In July of 1942 Major and his wife were spending a couple of weeks in Chicago and Saginaw. CDN 27/07/42
The CDN 1/02/43 reported that Major Wilson had returned to Listowel, after spending the week-end at his home on Water St. The CDN 16/02/43 reported that Major S. J. Wilson had been appointed to command of No.12 Basic Training Centre – Listowel, replacing Major D. M. Ross
It was reported in the CDN 4/01/44 that Major and Mrs. Sydney J. Wilson were the parents of a daughter Karen Ann. A christening ceremony was conducted at Christ Church, Chatham.
History After Enlistment… Served as a company commander on the Staff of #12 Training Centre until December 1942 when he went to Listowel as Commanding Officer of #`3 B.T.C. In November 1943 he returned to Military Headquarters in London acting as Placement Officer. In July 1945 returned to #12 B.T.C. becoming #4 Inf. Training Battalion, and remained until the camp was closed in January 1946.
