Wilfred was born in 1897 and was from Romney Township. He trained for about five weeks at Carling Heights, London, going overseas with the 97th draft on August 4th, 1918. He was stationed at Sandling until November 1st, when he was transferred.
He was drafted into Canadian Army and served in England with the Provost Corp. Bill S. can remember when he joined the Wheatley Legion in the 1970’s, our oldest & last WW1 vet.
