The son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Herbert Wildgen of Chatham Twsp, Kent Co., ON. From Tupperville. CDN 14/11/42.   Enlisted with RCAF in November 1942.  The CDN 11/12/43 reported he was on furlough at his parents. He was attending the Service Flying School at Souris MB.

He trained at Brandon, Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Regina before he graduated at Sauris, MB. The CDN 6/09/44 (P).

Herbert was reported on a two weeks furlough with his parents after graduating at Souris, MB after graduating and receiving his wings. CDN 8/05/44   The  CDN 6/06/44 reported that Sgt. Pilot was taking a commando course at Thee Rivers, PQ.
