Reference:  RG 150, Accession 1992-93/166, Box 10347 – 15, Item 312331. Date of Birth 13/03/1883 at South Gosfield Twsp., Essex Co.   Son of Adelia Wigle of R. R. #1 Ridgetown, ON. A single farmer living on his mothers farm. MSA Group No. 1. Attestation: 15/10/1918. Due to the date of enlistment and his age of 35 years, it is unlikely that Luther could have made it overseas.

Luther remained in the Ridgetown area, raising horses for harness racing. He never married. A religious man he never drank alcohol and voted against alcohol being served in the Ridgetown Legion on Main and Broadway.  J. Woodworth
