The son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wickwire of Erieau, ON.

It was reported that Pte. Ernie Wickwire was training at Kitchener in March 1942 when he was spending a weekend at his home. CDN 11/03/42  The CDN reported Ernie was stationed in Windsor with the RCOC  when he had a leave to visit his home.

Ernie had a weekend leave from Barriefield to be at home. CDN 4/09/42  Ernest was reported on a weekend-leave from Kingston to visit his family. CDN 21/09/42  CDN 4/09/42  Ernest was reported on a weekend-leave from Kingston to visit his family. CDN 21/09/42

In November of 1944 Ernie’s parents received a box of souvenirs and photos of Italy where Ernie was serving. CDN 21/11/44
