The son of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. White of Chatham, ON.  Mr. and Mrs. W.S. lived at 66 Centre St., Chatham, ON. It was reported that Bill received his Wings at Fingal BCATP as a Wireless air Gunner (WAG) in February of 1942 the ceremony was attended by his mother and his sister Mrs. L. F. Walker. CDN 31/01/42 and /20/02/42.

The CDN 4/06/45(P) reported that Warrant Officer Class One received his “Operational Wings” at a impressive ceremony in Toronto. Bill had served for over four years in the RCAF and the award was in recognition of “Gallant service in that he had completed a tour of operational duty in action against the enemy.”

History After Enlistment… Served with the R.C.A.F. in Canada and the North Atlantic Patrol. Promoted to Warrant officer Class 1 and received the award of the Royal Canadian Air Force of Operational Wings.

Date of Discharge… November 26th 1945
