Previous Military Experience… None

History After Enlistment… Trained at Halifax and the West Coast with the Kents before going overseas in 1943 as a reinforcement with the Highland Light Infantry. He received leg wounds during the D-Day operations in June 1944 and in March 1945 after fighting through Belgium and Holland and while engaged with enemy action along the Rhine, Suffered severe facial wounds. Promoted to Corporal and received the C.V.S.M. and clasp, the 1939-45 star the France and Germany Star the Defence medal and the Victory Medal.

The KCFA 19/07/45 reported he was aboard the hospital ship “E Mil” expected to dock at Halifax July 1945, he was a stretcher case.
