The 2nd son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Weldon of 41 Park Ave. East., Chatham, ON.
He enlisted in 1940 training in London, ON. and going overseas in December of 1941. After training in England he was sent to Sicily and later to Italy where he was serving in 1945.
Dick received a promotion from staff quartermaster sergeant to WO1. Reported returning to Canada from overseas duty aboard the troopship “Pasteur” expect to dock at Quebec City on the 22nd of September 1945. CDN 20/09/45. Reported returned from overseas duty CDN 23/09/45
