The DT 9/04/42 reported that William, stationed at Kitchener, had moved to Canadian Active Service. 

Bill was reported to have been stationed at Esquimalt, BC. when his mother Mrs. H. G. Watson had ventured out to BC from Blenheim to spend three weeks with her son. CDN 8/07/42 

The CDN 18/09/43 reported Probationary Sub-Lieut. Watson(CDN 15/10/43) returned to duties on the west coast after spending two weeks leave with his mother Mrs. H. G. Watson of Blenheim, ON. He along with Sub-Lieut. William Watson were leaving for the east Coast.

The CDN 31/10/44 reported that William had arrived in Canada and he was on leave at his mother’s home and to see his grandfather Dr. A. R. Hanks in Blenheim. He had seen service on D-Day. Once his leave was over he was to take a course at King’s College.
