Private George T. Watson went overseas with the 186th Battalion March 26th, 1917, proceeding to France in August 1917. November 9th, 1917, he received severe wounds in the left leg which necessitated immediate amputation, and also two fingers of the right hand required amputation. He was admitted to Croydon War Hospital, England, and invalided to Canada the latter part of May 1918, sailing on the Llandovery Castle. He was taken to Davisville Hospital for special treatment where he underwent two operations on his leg.
Discharged Jan 30th 1919 medically unfit for further service due to wounds received in action.
