Regimental number:  931680. Reference:  RG 150, Accession 1992-93/166, Box 10085-57, Item: 289189, PDF: B10085-SO57. DOB: 18/01/1899. Living at 275 Wellington St., East, Chatham, Kent Co., ON. Next of Kin: Emma Ward (mother). A single labourer.    

Attestation: 27/12/1916 at Chatham ON. Age 18 years, Height 5’ 4” , Complexion: Dark, Eyes: Brown, Hair Black. Medical 27/12/16 at Chatham, noted a small scar on right knee. To No.2 Construction Batt. 

Departed aboard the S.S. Southland departed 28/06/17 arrived at Liverpool, England 7/07/17. C.O.R.CC. to France 17/05/17 (latest address: 274 King St., Chatham, ON.)  Arrived overseas to France 17/08/17 “in Field”.    

It was reported that Ray was admitted to the Jura La Joux Hospital (Jura)1/10/19 for Conjunctivitis in his eyes. 4/10/17 Discharged. Re-admitted 13/10/17 returned to same unit. He served in France with No.2 ConstructionBatt. Age 19 when discharged. Ray had been hospitalized due to Influenza and spent four days in hospital in May of 1919 and recovered without any disability. 27/12/18 Ray was at Rhyl when SOS to Canada 19/01/19.

He returned to Canada aboard thr S.S. Olympic 17/01/19. He was given a furlough with a subsitance from 20/01,19 to 5/02/19. Ray had been hospitalized due to Influenza and spent four days in hospital in May of 1919 and recovered without any disability.

He was reported Discharged 2/08/19 at London, ON. Demobilization HMS. He received his overseas pay of $391.83
