Pte. George W. Walker went overseas in October 1914, proceeding to France in February 1915. The Battalion went from Messines to Armentieres thence to Fleurbaix; Ypres April 23rd, 1915; Festubert May 24th; Givenchy June 15th; and engagement June 30th; and July 10th; Hill 68 July 8th; an engagement August 5th; Messines September 22nd; Hooge April 5th, 1916; Ypres April 28th; Ypres June 15th; Hooge June 30th; the Somme September 22nd; the Somme October 2nd, 1916, when Pte. Walker was shell shocked and received gunshot wounds in the right leg. After treatment in France he was removed to England October 18th. and admitted to Hospital where he remained, receiving treatment in different Hospitals, until going to Buxton October 10th 1917. He was invalided to Canada, leaving England October 18th, and arriving at Halifax November 1st, 1917.
Pte. George W. Walker received his honorable discharge January 26th, 1918, being medically unfit for further military service.
