Born in Hespler, ON. in 1917, the son of Otto and Mamie (Klippert) Wachsmuth, he lived most of his life in Chatham, ON., at 33 Poplar St. The brother of Arthur, Mildred and David. Married to Celia, he was the father of Bill, Ruth (Parent).

Rolfe enlisted in December of 1941, training for a month at BTC. No. 12, Chatham, ON before transferring to the RCAF. He served four years in Canada only as an Armourer with 412 and 427 Squdrons. He reached the rank of LAC before being discharged in January of 1946.

After the war he married Celia and they had two children, Bill and Ruth. Rolfe was an employee of the City of Chatham. He was a Scout leader, skater, ice boater, baker of cookies and gingerbread.

Rolfe passed away 9 August, 2014, his obituary concluded with “I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith”. 2 Timothy 4-7. CDN-Obit 11/08/14.

Rolfe was 97 years old at his death.
