Secretary C. Louise VonGunten secured Commercial Diploma, Chatham Collegiate Institute in 1905. Received  the degree of B. A. from Toronto University in 1913. Passed as Physical Culture Specialist in Toronto in 1916.

Secretary C. Louise VonGunten enlisted as Secretary of Red Cross Unit No.13, in June 1917, and after a few months in reviewing work in Chicago, entrained for Lakewood, N. J. April 4th, 1918, thence to New York May 1st. She sailed May 23rd, 1918, arriving in France May 30th, and was located at Limoges, France. She served with this unit from July 1919. Sailed from Brest July 15th, 1919.

Discharged August 2nd, 1919 due to demobilisation.
