Born in Chatham, ON. in 1915, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Verrall. Married to Eileen, (nee Hancock) the father of Bill CDN9/02/50. and John.
History After Enlistment… Archie enlisted with the 2nd Bn., Kent Regt I 1940 as a Pte. At the Chatham Armories for Administration and Training. The CDN 4/10/44 reported that Archie had been promoted to the rank of Captain in the RCR’s at Camp Bordon where he had been for two years. He rose to the rank of Sgt. Major and was recommended for Officer Training School (Brockville) in September of 1942. Commissioned as a Lieutenant in January of 1942 and was posted as reinforcement office at Camp Borden. He became second in command of the Training Centre and was promoted to Captain in September of 1944 and Company Commander in January of 1945.
Archie was discharged from the army in September of 1945.
After the war he worked for International Harvester in Chatham. He passed away in 2001.
