Served one year with the 24th. Kent Regiment.

Private Alvin W. Tye enlisted with the 186th Battalion at Ridgetown February 1916, and trained with that unit at London, Camp Borden, and Chatham, he was promoted to Sergeant and proceeded overseas March 1917 and trained at Bramshott until August 1917 when he proceeded to France and joined 18th Battalion at Villers du Bois and served with that unit until wounded November 11th 1917 at Passchendaele, having previously taken part in the action at Hill 70, he was transferred to Bath War Hospital, Thence to Canadian Red Cross Hospital at Buxton, thence to Bramshott joining the W.C.R.D. from there to Witley and Shornecliffe and C.A.M.C. Epsom, he left Liverpool in S.S. Carmania August 1919 and arrived at Halifax Nova Scotia August 13th 1919.

Discharged at London August 15th, due to demobilisation.
