Lieutenant Twohey received his commission in the Infantry June 24, 1916.
He obtained his honourable discharge from the CASC Oct. 31, 1916, to accept a commission in the active militia.
He received a commission as Lieutenant in the Artillery Mar. 19, 1917 and was accepted as Probationary Flight Officer for the Royal Air Service Nov. 15.
He left Chatham for overseas Nov. 29, and was stationed at the Royal Naval College, Greenwich, London, England, proceeding to the British Flying School in France Mar. 3, 1918 and remained there until May 25 when he was enlisted to Flight Lieutenant appointed to Cranwell, England and graduated as Lieutenant July 2.
He died on July 3 as the result of injuries received the day previous at the Aerdrome.
He was buried with full military honours at Cranwell, July 4, 1918.
