Additional information: Son of Richard and Mary Ann Twell, of Station Rd., Surfleet, Spalding, Lincolnshires., England. Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead Cemetery: CHATHAM (MAPLE LEAF) CEMETERY. Attestation shows “Struck off 20 Feb. 1915 DO. 23 para #13”. Pte. Twell was remembered at a memorial service held at Holy Trinity Church conducted by the Rev. Spence CDP 2/07/1915. The article says that Pte. Twell “died while in Training in England. The “CEF Roll of Honour” by Edward Wigney indicates he was buried at Conde-sur L’Escaut Communal Cemetery, France, Regt. No. 400901. There is also an Obituary in the CDP 11/05/1915
