Private Turner sailed Sept. 6, 1914, for Bermuda with RCR where he served one year doing garrison duty.
He then left for England, thence to France in 1915, taking part in all important engagements.
He was wounded once, and after three weeks hospital treatment returned to his unit where he served until Sept. 28, 1918, when he was killed in action.
