Born 16/09/1916 in Dover Twsp., Kent Co. ON. Son of Thomas and Edith Maud Turner of Chatham Twsp., Kent Co. ON., he had a twin sister Hazel. Prior to enlisting Orval worked at the Linsay’s Tile Yard in Tupperville, Kent Co., ON.

Orval enlisted at the Chatham Armouries in 1942 with the Oxford Rifles. He trained at # 12 BTC. Chatham, ON. and Nanaimo, British Columbia. He went overseas in September 1944 joining the Royal Canadian Regt.  The Wallaceburg News reported that Orval was stationed overseas with NO2. CIRU. WN-date unknown.  

Orval was wounded during the advance to the Seino River in the area of Bagnacavillo, Italy on the 17th sadley he died two days later at a field hospital.

Age: 28, DOW – Date of Death: 19/12/1944, in Italy.

Cemetery: CORIANO RIDGE WAR CEMETERY.
