The son of  Mr. E. H. and Margaret A. Turner of 142 Van Allen Ave., Chatham. His father was a veteran of the Great War. 

Previous Military Experience… Trained with the 2nd Kent Regiment.

History After Enlistment… enlisted with the 30th recce Regiment and went overseas in 1943 He later signed up as a reinforcement with the Essex Scottish Reg’t and saw action in Holland, Belgium, France and Germany.  He was wounded twice in leg.  The CDN 21/11/44 reported that Ernest had been wounded for the second time.  

Date of Discharge… October 1945
