Vladimir was born in Czechoslovakia and grew up in Erieau.  Son of John and Stephanie Trojek of Erieau, brother of John Peter Trojek.  His mother was born in Austria.
 
He flew secret reconnaissance missions, as a Navigator for the RCAF, in a Mosquito, coated in a dark colour.  The missions were kept a secret for reconnaissance only and the plane carried no weapons or ammunition.  The two man crew each had one pistol and that was stored in an overhead compartment.
 
His nickname was “Wally”. Died of cancer in 1995.
