The WN 29/08/40 reported that Bert along with Lyle Lapointe were to joining up with Bill Hancock, Max Phoenix, Bill Pierce, also former members of the Kiltie Band. The CDN 23/05/41 reported that Bert was at Camp Borden in the camp band.
