The son of Mrs. Lawrence Tong of McKay’s Corners, Harwich Twsp., Kent Co., ON. Married, his wife was living at 82 ½ Dover St., Chatham, ON. Prior to enlisting Wilfred was the janitor of St. Joseph’s RC church in Chatham.

History After Enlistment… Trained at #12 B.T.C. and Camp Ipperwash. Pte. Tong went overseas with an infantry regiment in July of 1944 and it wa reported in the CDN 1/09/44 that Pte. Tong had been wounded while in action in France. IODE, LM-LP.

Wilfred Lewis Tong passed away 29/06/1995.
