Born in Toronto, ON. , the daughter of George and Susan (nee Major) Thornton.  The sister of Leonard, William, Phyllis,Davies, Beatrice Charron.

The WN 30/09/43 reported the Sgt. Thornton was stationed at Camp Ipperwash had enjoyed a week-end at her home in Wallaceburg.          

A veteran of WWII. The Wallaceburg News reported that Sgt. Thornton was at McDonald College, St. Anne de Belleview, PQ.

The wife of Jean-Louis Mickie, mother of Geraldine and Spencer.

Very active in many church groups, a member of St. James Anglcan Church in Wallaceburg. A member of the Pythian Sisters, the Harriet Newkirk IODE and S.D.H Auxillary.

Evelyn passed away 13 April, 2011 at the age of 91 years with interment at Riverview cemetery, Wallaceburg. CDN-Obit.
