He had been recalled from the Corps Reserve Officer’s in 1940 to command the 2nd Kent Regt. until his appointment as District recruiting Officer. He was also involved in the local committees in the district for war loan purposes in 1939-40. The CDN 30/10/43 reported involved in the Fifth Victory Loan drive.
