Born 25/09/1896 at Fethersone, England. The son of John Kinnaird and Clara Thompson, 74 Wellington St., West, Chatham, ON. They would later be living at The Square, Briavels, Glos. On his attestation paper he is listed as a farmer, in the IODE Books of Remembrance he is a painter at W. Gray & Sons, Chatham.
Attestation: 10/10/1917 at Chatham, ON. to the 1st WOR. Drafted to France to the 18th Bn. CEF and then to 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifled
Private Stanley Thompson went overseas with the 1st. draft from the 1st. Depot Battalion soon after enlistment, and proceeded to France on Easter Sunday transferring to the 18th. Battalion.
