The son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank. Thomas of Blenheim, ON. The husband of Gertrude and father of Patricia and Freddie. Gordon had two brothers also in service, John ‘Jack’ Clinton in the RCAF who was a POW in Germany and Lloyd Thomas V67751, in the RCNVR. He enlisted early in the war, serving one year in Canada. Gordon served overseas for four years and a month, with the 16th Field Company RCE. He first saw action in February of 1944 in Holland and Germany. After V-E Day he returned to Holland for six weeks before returning to Canada. Arrived from overseas on S. S. “Louis Pasteur” CDN 1/09/45.TBD-RH CDN 8/09/45.
