Born 8 October, 1922 at Tilbury, ON. N of K: Mr. G. L. Thibeault of R.R. #3, Merlin, Kent Co. ON.

Frank enlisted in 1939 and served four years overseas, in England and Europe.  He returned home aboard the S.S. Mauretania. CDN 31/12/45 Arrived in Halifax aboard the S.S. Mauretania docking 1/01/1946.

While on the train for Chatham an accident occurred just east of Bothwell when a group of returned men pushed towards one of the passenger car windows in an effort to get a better view of the countryside they had talked and dreamed about while overseas came in sight. They pushed Frank forward and his right wrist went through the window seriously lacerating the wrist.

The train stopped in Bothwell and Dr. Walker  boarded the train to treat Pte. Thibeault. Upon reaching Chatham Frank was taken to St. Joseph’s hospital suffering from loss of blood, his waiting family followed him to the hospital, the welcome home Frank had expected. CDN 5/01/46.

Frank passed away 23 March, 2014 at Blackfoot, Idaho, USA.
