Born 16/03/1921 at Mitchell’s Bay, Kent Co., ON. The son of the late William and Faith / Edith Tewksbury who was next of kin. Married Becky Wilfreda (nee Mack) also RCAF(WD) of Princton, BC. at St. Thomas Church, Dover Twsp. CDN 22/08/44. It was reported that they returned to their respective stations in BC. In September of 1942 Bill was at Number One – Wireless School, in Montreal, PQ when he was given a leave to visit his mother in Mitchell’s Bay, Kent Co., ON. CDN 30/09/42

History After Enlistment… His place of enlistment was Chatham, Ontario. His address at enlistment was Mitchell’s Bay, Ontario. Stationed at Trenton and in British Columbia, engaged in Radio work. Promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

The CDN 17/02/43 Reported Bill returned to RCAF-Trenton after a two week furlough with his mother at Mitchel’s Bay. The WN 18/03/43 reported that William stationed at RCAF-Trenton, ON. was spending a weeks furlough with his mother at Mitchell’s Bay, ON. The WN 24/06/43 reported that Bill was home on a weekend leave from RCAF-Trenton visiting his mother.
In July 1943 William was at RCAF-Trenton when he was given a week leave. WN 8/07/43 The WN 29/04/43 reported that AC2 Tewkesbury was home for Easter with his parents.
The CDN 1/03/44(P) reported that LAC Tewkesbury who had been posted on an island on the Pacific coast as a radio technician. He had attended aircraft school at Galt after enlisting in 1942. He completed courses at Lachine PQ, Trenton, ON., and Montreal No. 1 Wireless School where he received his “Sparks”. The WN 31/08/44 reported that he and his wife were returning to the West Coast to resume his duties.

William passed away in February, 1995. CCI-RH, LM-LP.
William’s daughter writes – “My dad served from 25 June, 1942 to 9 October, 1945. He learned about radios and fixed them. He met my Mom, Bertha Mack during their service. My Dad worked in the wireless section which taught him enough so he became a TV sales and service man for over 30 years after the war. My parents had 2 children.”
