The son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Edward Taylor of Cross St. in Chatham. His father served in the 186thBatt. in the Great War. A student at St. Joseph’s Separate school.

Prior to his enlistment in May, 1943 he was employed at the Union Gas Co.

He trained at Cornwallis, and Halifax. In March of 1943 he left for Vancouver on a merchant ship. His last letter home was written in June of 1944. CDN 15/09/44(P).

Previous Military Experience… Enlisted with the R.C.A.F. in 1941. Received honourable discharge from the Service and one year later joined the Navy.

History After Enlistment… Trained at Quebec, City and Cornwallis, N.S. Served in Durbin, South Africa and South America.

Date of Discharge… June 1945
