Private Arthur Tapner left Halifax with the 186th. Battalion March 26th, 1917, and proceeded to France September 9th, 1917, serving with the 1st. Battalion in the field. He received gunshot wounds in the right hand August 9th, 1918 at Amiens, was admitted to Queen Mary Military Hospital, Whalley, Lancashire, transferred to Elleslie Auxiliary Hospital, Black-burn, and convalesced at Epsom, Surrey. He returned to the 4th. Reserve Battalion, Witley, in November, was sent to Rhyl, Wales, and left for Canada December 12th, 1918, arriving at Halifax December 20th, 1918.
Private Arthur Tapner received his discharge January 10th, 1919, due to demobilisation.
