Born in 1922 in Czechoslovakia, the 21 year old son of Frances Sysel (mother) of 211 Harvey St. . The brother of Elizabeth ‘Bessie” (Krejci), Mary (Turley), Ann (Jamieson) and Joe. Married to Jean (nee Stephenson) and later Margaret Neoma (nee Archibald). He attended St. Joseph’s school and graduated  from the CVS as a motor mechanic and was employed in this trade before enlisting in the Tank Corps one year ago.

Previous Military Experience… None

The CDN 14/09/43(P) reported that Frank had graduated from O.T.C. in Brockville. He trained in Listowel, Camp Borden and Three Rivers PQ. It was there tat he started his officer’s training with the officers selective and appraisal Centre. From there he went Brockville. He was on a weeks leave in Chatham.

Joe served in the Army in 1944.

After the war he became a partner in ‘Labombards’ auto repair in Chatham and later spent many years as a court services officer in the Chatham court.

Frank passed away 12 Jan. 2016 in Petrolia, ON at the the age of 94 years. CDN-Obit 16/01/16.
