After two months training at Bramshott Camp he was transferred to the Forestry Battalion, Sunnigdale Camp, proceeding to France in May, 1917, attached to the 44th. Company, NO.1 District, Central Group, Canadian Forestry Corps. He was admitted to the R.V.H. Hospital, Netley, England.
