Private Strangeway left for overseas with the 186th battalion Mar. 26, 1917. He trained at Bramshott and proceeded to France Aug 25 to the 18th battalion.
He was admitted to hospital at Rouen Nov. 11 suffering from concussion. Six weeks later he returned to the lines an served until Aug, 1918 when he was given leave to England.
He rejoined his unit in France Sept. 2, received severe wounds in the shoulder and knee Sept. 5, and was admitted to hospital where he died Sept. 27, 1918.
