The son of Mr. and Mrs. I. E. Storey of Louisville, Kent Co., ON.the brother of Mrs. Roy Doughty of Chatham. He was reported to have arrived safely in England. Prior to his enlistment he was employed at the American Pad and Textile plant on Queen Street in Chatham. CDN 1/03/42.
LAC Storey was reported to have arrived safely in England. CDN 1/03/42. Jack served with 409 Squadron; a Canadian night fighter squadron, first using Beaufighters and then Mosquitos. Jack learned his trade as a mechanic in the RCAF. The Squadron operated from Britain and after D-Day in France and Belgium. WHATHG
The CDN 13/06/45(P) reported that Cpl J. B. Storey had arrive from overseas and was on a 30 day leave.
After the war, Jack put his skills to work and the Ford dealership and later at International Harvester. He married Marg in 1948 and they had two sons and two daughters. In 1958 he and a partner started Storey’s Garage and Repair on Queen St. His son Jay apprenticed there and eventually took over the business. He expanded the business selling used cars and Goodyear tires.
In his retirement he became a member of Wing 411 RCAF Association. Jack fought a loosing battle with cancer in 2006.
