The son of J. C. Stewart K.C. and Mrs. Stewart of Chatham. The CDN 28/11/45 reported that Surgeon-Lieut Stewart had been appointed the medical officer on HMCS Puncher (D79) the largest ship in the Canadian Navy. Originally an auxiliary carrier during the war was then serving as a troop transport bringing soldiers and sailors home from overseas.

History After Enlistment… Served in the Naval Hospital in Halifax for several months. Was appointed medical Officer on the H.M.C.S. Puncher.
