Previous Military Experience… Trained with the 2nd Kent Regiment

Born 1926 at Chatham, ON. the son of Frederick and Minnie Spurgeon of 86 Murray St., Chatham, brother of Arthur Albert (A110062) and Lloyd Frederick (A20440).

Gordon enlisted in Chatham with the 2nd Kent Regt 25/05/1944 and transferred to the RCE attended trades training in Toronto, Montreal, Hamilton and Woodstock.  The CDN 3/01/45 reported that Gordon had been home for Christmas and New Years before leaving for Montreal. There is no record of overseas service. He was discharged from the Army 8/10/1945.

Gordon died in 2002 and is buried at st. Thomas Anglican Church Cemetery, Pain Court, Chatham-Kent, ON.
