Born 31/08/1923, the son of Percy and Loritta Smith. The husband of Dora, father of Karen, Leslie, Paul, Michael and Sydney.

William enlisted in 1942 and served oversea, stationed at Swansea, Wales, UK. Reported returning to Canada aboard the troopship Britannic, expected to arrive at Quebec City, on the 14th of August, 1945.

William appeasr to have stayed in the RCAF as a F/O. 47198. He served as an Insructor at RCAF Centralia where he was a member of the 1stCanadian Harvard aerobatic team. He served Overseas again in Germany as an F-86 Saber pilot. A member of the RCAF “Flyers” hockey team. He was assigned to the Air Intelligence Section during the ‘Cold War’ with Russia.

He appears on the CVWM as living in Guilds when he died 20/03/58 at Moise, PQ., while on a routine flight. A photo of William appears to be post war. He is buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim, ON.
