The son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Smith of 23 Forest St., Chatham [a veteran of the Great War]. Married, his wife and daughter resided at  95 Wellington St. His brother Vernon L. Smith was in the service.  His brother-in-law George Howard Skipper was also in the service.  

Clarence had enlisted in the First Kent’s in August of 1940. He was reported in the CDN 8/09/44 Clarence was serving overseas with the RCAMC.

Previous Military Experience… None

History After Enlistment… Served in Canada. Went on draft overseas and served in England, Belgium and Germany.

Date of Discharge… December 8th 1945
