The son of Mrs. Percy Smith of Willowmac Ave., Chatham,ON. The CDN 6/07/44 reported was training at Camp Ipperwash when he was granted a two week furlough to visit his mother.

Previous Military Experience… Trained with the 2nd Kent Bugle Band.

History After Enlistment… Trained at #12 B.T.C. and Ipperwash. Took a three months Drivers Course at Woodstock and was stationed at Camp Borden for one year as Driver Mechanic. Went to North Bay and was promoted to Corporal. Transferred to Long Branch for a course in drills and duties Then to North Bay again as Drill Instructor. Transferred to Woodstock.
