Private Ronald Herbert Smedley went overseas March 26th, 1917, with the Mounted  Rifles. September 10th, he was admitted to Moore barracks Hospital and had an operation on his tonsils going to Woodcote Convalescent Hospital October 8th. returning to camp October 22nd. He took Machine gun, Bombing and first aid courses.
